HSN January 21st Giveaway #1

Hi everyone!

Only six more days until Christmas! Can you believe it? We are as busy as ever getting ready for a whirlwind January that includes a fun trip to Anaheim for CHA, the Atlanta Gift Show and of course the HSN “Anna-versary” shows.

We have an exciting giveaway today, and we’ll also make time for one more sneak peek on Tuesday before we head out for a few days of holiday R&R. I think this is the most entries we’ve ever gotten for our blog giveaways, and it was a toss up for this week’s favorite product. At first it seemed Juliet was the front runner, but the Silver Flourishes and Paisley Patterns also had a strong showing.

Our first winner will be receiving all three of these fabulous collections. That lucky someone is Patty Moore!  Congratulations! We hope this makes your Christmas even merrier.

I posted some festive photos on Instagram a few days ago that I thought you might like to see. First is an angel ornament I still have from my first Christmas. She is always front and center on the tree!

Georgie was happy to oversee all of the decorating and was fascinated by the Christmas lights.

Needless to say, all that hard work wore him out and he needed a cat nap.

Speaking of that little fur ball, one of the brand new collections we’ll preview on Tuesday was inspired by him. I think you’re going to love it. He certainly approves!

Have a wonderful weekend!

HSN January 21st “Anna-versary” Preview #1

Hi everyone!

We are so excited about our upcoming HSN shows on January 21st that we couldn’t wait until after Christmas to kick off the sneak peeks.  They are just that good!

This visit will kick off our 5th anniversary on HSN, which we have appropriately dubbed our “Anna-versary.” That calls for a celebration, right? So, to commemorate 5 wonderful years we’ll have 5 weeks of Tuesday previews and 5 Friday giveaways!

We will also have a very exciting Today’s Special on the 21st that we will reveal the details on throughout the coming weeks. All I can say is it’s a collection for your Cuttlebug like nothing you’ve seen before…

…But more on that later. We’ve got 3 new items to show you today!

First up is a collection that’s arriving just in time for Valentine’s Day!  The Juliet Collection includes 12 romantic patterned papers featuring romantic damasks, elegant floral bouquets and feminine foil-stamped polka dot papers that pair beautifully with die cut doilies. You’ll love layering these darling designs with heartfelt sentiment stickers, three-dimensional paper roses and timeless borders to create the perfect project from Valentine’s Day to her wedding day.  The Juliet Collection will be available on hsn.com at the beginning of January, so you can order this one in plenty of time for February 14th.

You loved the Gold Foil Flourishes collection we debuted back in July, so we decided to create a stunning silver version! As you know if you already own the gold set, more is more with these embellishments. They are so elegant and easy to layer, and we’re giving you 100 of them to play with. I find myself using them on nearly every project I make!

Last up for today are the Paisley Patterns embossing folders and dies. If you signed up for our autoship program back in March, this is the collection you received in October.  If not, now you can purchase this set of embossing folders and dies separately! This collection includes paisley patterns, lattice designs, florals and more with two coordinating border dies. There are also two shape cutting dies in this set as well- a medallion and beautiful butterfly!  http://bit.ly/paisleypatterns

We’ll draw a winner on Friday. Best of luck!

Beautiful in the Making: Angelic Card Toppers

Hi friends!

Can you believe Christmas is only a couple of weeks away? I hope you have all been busy creating lots of handmade cards with all of your new holiday collections. One of our favorites this year is the Angelic Card Toppers kit, so how about some inspiration for these gorgeous embellishments?

Let’s start with a quick how to! We used a gold card base and a 4.5”x6.5” tan card layer from our Perfect Palette collection to start this one off (http://bit.ly/1ziLTHY).photo 14

Next, we cut a 4”x6” blue and gold card patterned layer and adhered it to the card. Any coordinating patterned cardstock will work just fine.

Everything else we used on this card is from the Angelic Card Toppers kit! Follow the photos below to add a postcard, tag, angel, glitter embellishments and sentiment.

We love how the coordinating angel embellishment and postcard layer perfectly.

We even layered three glittered stars for added dimension!

Isn’t that just beautiful? Not to mention quick and easy.

Here are a few other Christmas cards I created over the weekend using the angels and our last two holiday card kits. Enjoy!

That’s all for today. Check back next Tuesday for the start of several very exciting previews for our January 21st shows on HSN that you do not want to miss!

Beautiful in the Making: 5 Step Christmas Cardstock Card

Hi there!

Today we are going to show you how to make a festive card with our new Christmas Cardstock Collection in just 5 simple steps. There’s still time to get these pretty papers home before the holidays: http://bit.ly/christmascardstock

Let’s get started!

For this card you will need the gold holly, pinecone and both red square papers from the Christmas Cardstock Collection as well as some of your favorite holiday embellishments.

  1. First, cut a sheet of gold holly paper to 7”x10” and fold in half to create your card base.
  2. Next, cut a 4.5”x6.5” piece of red and cream square cardstock and adhere to card base

3. Cut a 3”x4” piece of the pinecone cardstock, taper edges into a tag shape and punch a small hole in the center of the tag. We distressed the edges of the tag using our Luminous Gold ink pad (http://bit.ly/holidayinks) but you can leave it as is if you’d like.

4. Create a pleated rosette by cutting a 1 ¾”strip of the red and gold square paper. Score the paper every ¼ inch, fold, and adhere pinwheel to the bottom left of the card. If you are new to making rosettes, we have a YouTube video that might be a good resource for you: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0le-YuD8Q_Q

5. Embellish! We chose several embellishments to finish off this card- a pretty green ribbon for the top of the tag, a gold flourish, a sprig of holly and a “Warm Christmas Wishes” sentiment sticker.

We hope you enjoy giving this a try. Next Tuesday we are going to play with your favorite Angelic Card Toppers and show you some fun new projects for those.

See you then!
