HSN May 14th Sneak Peek 1

Hi everyone!

Can you believe it’s almost time for another visit to HSN? In just three short weeks we will have brand new items and amazing new projects to show you. Be sure to mark your calendars for May 14th at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. EST. Let’s get straight to the previews!

So many of you requested more masculine collections from us this year, and we delivered during our March shows with our For the Boys Die Cuts and Cards for Him Too Kit. However, we are missing two great elements – stamps and inks for him! The For the Boys Clear Stamps include 34 clear stamps that will be the perfect companion to these previous kits, featuring icons like fish, tools, motorcycles and more. There are also some really fantastic sentiments that can be used for a variety of occasions.

You’ll enjoy using these stamps with the brand new Set of 8 Masculine Inks! This rugged palette of green, blue, brown and red will works so well on cards, layouts, gift tags and more.

Last up this week are our new Well Said Vellum Quotes.  Inside you’ll find 144 clever quotes and greetings for all of the special people in your life. These are so great! I’ll even share a few of my favorites with you:

“A heart that loves is always young.”

“If you obey all the rules, you’ll miss all the fun.”

“You’re the icing on my cupcake.”

Do you want to win all three of these new items this week? Comment below and tell us what you love about them for your chance to win. We will draw a winner on Friday.

See you then!

I am so excited to find out that you’re BACK on HSN in May, Anna. Somehow I missed that info but was checking your website a couple of days ago and saw it.  Can hardly wait!  I got the last shipment of cards (“For Him”) just a couple of weeks ago and have been busy with them—two male birthdays in as many weeks.  Am just beginning to get into stamping–bought your chalkboard stamp set, the birthday set and the anniversary stamp set, plus all the inks that have been available up to now.  Anything masculine to add to my stash would be much appreciated!  PLEASE draw my name!
Know I’ve said it here before, but thanks once again for your beautiful designs.

Hi Anna! I really love the color palette of your masculine stamp pads. Thank you!
  3. Posted by: sandi
Outstanding! I shared your folders with a friend, and now you have another fan of your brilliant designs. We can’t wait to see all the new items in May. I would love to see some 6×12 paper to use in my cricut create. T2Ihanks for all the fantastic ideas and products!
  4. Posted by: Karen B.
So excited for the masculine stamps – and to have the inks as well is just awesome!  Thank you Anna.
  5. Posted by: Kim Kitchell
Love all your products, but so happy that you have more “guy” stuff!  I am still trying to order some of the out of stock items from the last time you were on HSN!  You rock Anna!
  6. Posted by: Leslie D.
So excited to see more stuff for the guys.  I have been making cards for the guys in my life with the products that have come out so far.  The reactions have been beyond anything I anticipated!  They show them off and make sure everyone knows I made them especially for them.  Who says guys don’t appreciate cards made for them?
  7. Posted by: Nel Konkle
I am so happy you are putting out manly stuff. It is hard to find the right stuff  for our guys and for sure the stamps. Are you going to be putting out stamps and dies that match someday? I hope so because I love love love your stamps and dies and to have them match would be out of this world like all of your other stuff . (that I have to buy) I have all of your inks and the re-inkers you have put out but there are some ink pads you have not made re-inkers for. HELP!
  8. Posted by: Grama Pei
HORRAY!   YAYAY!  More inks!  and man-stamps!  I cannot wait to see the sets!  And I TOTALLY need those vellum quotes.   This is the first time in my adult life I have ever considered NOT putting in a garden in the spring so I could have more time to papercraft!  ha!  Your ‘tools’ are SO much fun, Anna!
  9. Posted by: Jeorgette P
It seems like everything you design is classy and beautiful, including your more masculine stuff (beautiful in a “manly” way, of course LOL).I can’t wait to watch you showcase these on HSN (and then do my best to control impulse buying…lol, yeah right).

  10. Posted by: Karen
Anna, it’s about time someone thought of the special men in our lives.  To be able to celebrate them with a personalized card makes the messages we try to send to them even more special.  Thank you!  I can’t wait to see the other sentiments you will be offering with this set of vellum quotes.  Your quotes always provide me a starting point to express something personal to the person I am thinking of at the time of making my cards.  And I love the colors of these new stamps!  You are such an inspiration to new crafters like me!
  11. Posted by: Kim E.
The male items are fantastic, especially the tools since there are many construction men in my life-not too much time for fishing. Your inks are a perfect addition- quality. I am always glad when you bring out your vellum quotes and sayings. Your team is much more talented at writing compared to my writer’s block. Thank you again.

    Two cards. Dumb phone.
  13. Posted by: Heid
Oh Anna, this is beyond helpful in color palettes. I just received the “all about him” card kit and made to cards my own way and sent them out the same day! They were amazing and you made me want to make cards for them. It is so hard to tap into 15 guys in my family and try and create a card for them. I try and stick with their personality or hobbies. Many do not have hobbies and I have to go on personality and what colors. The card kit made my day and I said oh wow how come I could not think of that? Easy breezy card making and now stamps and inks to go with? What a dream! Thanks for helping is crafters out when it comes to men! They really do like these cards!
  14. Posted by: Karen M
You truly amaze me Anna!  I would love the chance to win these!  I guess I’ll need to make more space in my craft room or should I say my Anna Griffin room!
  15. Posted by: Suzann Anderson
Love the new items for the guys in our lives. The vellum sentiments really help finish off a card. Especially for those who don’t stamp! Can’t wait to see the rest:)
  16. Posted by: Becky T
Like everyone else I have my calendar marked for the 14th.  I am happy to see you have a set of vellum quotes. I have used all the ones I purchased so it looks like I’ll be using that credit card for sure!
Thanks for making card kits and assessories so easy to combine together I haven’t had one problem mixing one kit with another.
  17. Posted by: joanie
Oh, my goodness!  Those stamps would be wonderful….along with those stamp pads!  I love everything you make, Anna!
Thank you for a chance to win!
  18. Posted by: Deb Juillerat
You just keep coming up with more great ideas, Anna! While I love all your florals, it seems like I have to make more male cards. Thanks so much for keeping the guy products coming! Love the stamps, and the stamp pads are a wonderful idea. Looking forward to the quotes, too – seems we can never have enough!
  19. Posted by: Carrie S
Love, love, love all the sentiments.  Keep ’em coming!!!!  Can’t wait for the 14th!!!
  20. Posted by: Roseanna Crawford

I like the masculine themed die cuts because they help to develop masculine cards and pages, that I usually struggle with.

  21. Posted by: Jeri J.
those ink colors are to dye for HA HA. I always fall in love with your color palette. thanks for such wonderful products.
  22. Posted by: Debbie Z
Love everything AG!  Have a corner of my craft room dedicated to your products.  Keep bringing more masculine items!
  23. Posted by: Debbie Rohaley
It is always tough to come up with ideas for guy cards.  Thanks Anna for offering products that make it a bit easier for us!
  24. Posted by: Gloria
Great new additions to the line! Looking forward to making these part of my collection.
  25. Posted by: Jennifer H.
Hi Anna & Team,I always look forward to previewing all the new must-have AG items in your sneak peeks. The new masculine stamps, ink pads and meaningful vellum quotes would make any project look fabulous. Can’t wait to see them in action on May 14th. Thanks for creating such beautiful items and for being so generous!

I always need more guy themed images for card making. Thanks for making more.
  27. Posted by: Amy
These would fill a gap in my card making supplies PERFECTLY!
  28. Posted by: Patti
Love the new products. I have the last shipment of the card kits. I love the guy stuff. Want the new inks. I am replacing my old pads with all Anna inkpads. I really only buy Anna products anymore. Keep them coming. Hinting for pet  dog stuff too.
  29. Posted by: April S.
I love Anna Griffin products and have for many years.  I am in need of more male products for my card making and am excited about the next HSN show.  Some how my “Cards For Him” auto delivery card set never arrived and currently there is no order number to re-order. I was looking forward to getting this card kit and hope it will be available for purchase soon.
  30. Posted by: Melissa
The new masculine line is outstanding. I made three male oriented cards this weekend already using the card kit and the add on male embellishments.  Great for all ages. No more butterfly’s and birds for the guys. Now it’s hammers, fish and more.  Please keep the beautiful kits coming.  My craft room is overflowing with Anna Griffin products, but there is never a moment when I’m stumped for an idea.  My husband may have to move a few things out of the craft closet for me to move the new items in, but it’s time for spring cleaning anyway.  Thanks for all of the great products and ideas.
  31. Posted by: Lois D.
You’re my favorite card designer. I do need more male items, so pick me please.

They say just what I would love to say on my cards plus they make up into beautiful cards. That are just what I want & need.
  34. Posted by: Linda
Hi Anna     My birthday is May 2 and  I am going to make my self a  window frame card.  Love the idea of vellum quotes.  love my cuttle bug dyes but my arm’s are getting a little sore.  See you on May 14  .
  35. Posted by: Maureen
I have several nephews and I am always wondering what to put on cards for them. The stamps would really be a help. You can never have enough quotes and sentiments.
  36. Posted by: Granny Brenda

Not a single downside to this set! I have more guys in my life i.e.: Sons, Grandsons, Dads, Grandpa’s and of course my wonderful Husband.  Because of all of the testosterone in my life, your semi-recent products (that I continuously purchase) have saved my life. The ink pads will coordinate with all of your existing cards and embellishments (of course, it is what we have come to expect from you and, by the way, you always deliver….)

I am so grateful you are continuing to generate more and more masculine items, as I said another time, I couldn’t send my poor Vet a thank you card with all the flowers and lace but now I can use the quality products I love to use for my cards that are going to Men.

Thanks Anna, you did it again!

  37. Posted by: dolores weitzman
love this brilliant idea for having the masculine side for scrapbooking. love the new stamp ink pad colors, simply masculineously mantastic!!!, woohoo, would love to win these products, as always, you have outdone yourself!!! thank you so much.
  38. Posted by: gail
Waiting on the 14th!!  Seems like it will never get here!  Love all the new products !  Men’s cards are always the hardest ones to make.
I have trouble using the vellum quotes, but will try doing what you’ve done here.  I know you have much more to come!!  Can I come work for you?

    Beautiful.  I will be watching!

I have 4 sons and 2 grandsons-I am over the moon about the new stamps and ink colors. I’ll be making cards for all kinds of occasions-and certainly some altered items for present.Thank you Anna!

Beautiful in the Making 3: Mother’s Day Gift Card Holder

Hi everyone!

Can you believe how fast this year is flying by? Mother’s Day is coming up on May 11th, so we thought we’d put together the perfect little handmade gift card holder for Mom!

This project is really great to send gift cards for any occasion from birthdays to graduations!

· Yellow card base and pink card stock from the Anna Griffin Perfect Palette Card Making Kit: http://bit.ly/1hXfJJR
· Anna Griffin Lace Trimmings Collection large flourish die and Camilla Lace embossing border folder: http://bit.ly/1ohXRhS
· White or ivory card stock
· Lace border punch from the Anna Griffin Interchangeable Border Punch Collection: http://bit.ly/1kmZoBz
· Anna Griffin Cottage Roses 3D Stickers
· Floral paper from the Anna Griffin French Floral Papers Collection
· Anna Griffin Nearest & Dearest Sentiment Sticker Collection “For My Mother” sentiment
· Cream ribbon
· Cream button
· Tab punch

1.   Trim a 4 3/4” x 6 3/4” panel of floral patterned paper (we used text weight paper from our French Floral Papers Collection). Adhere to yellow Perfect Palette card base.

2.   Die cut large flourish element from white or cream card stock.

3.   Adhere die cut to card by wrapping ends of flourish around to backside and inside or card base, leaving center portion without adhesive so a tag can be inserted.

4.   Affix “for my mother” sticker to center of flourish.  Accent with flower sticker.

5.   Trim a 4” x 5 1/2” piece of pink Perfect Palette card stock.  Create tag shape by trimming upper corners.

6.   Punch bottom edge of tag. Emboss just above punched edge with Camilla Lace embossing border folder. Use a tab punch to punch tabs to hold gift card, or secure gift card with a bit of removable adhesive.

7.   Add ribbon tab and button to tag top.

8.   Insert gift card and slide entire tag behind die cut flourish.

I hope you enjoy making this project!

We’re going to take a couple of weeks off from our Beautiful in the Making project series to show you all of the amazing new products coming up on HSN on May 14th.

See you next week for the first preview (there may be some giveaways too!)

Beautiful in the Making: DIY Easter Basket

Hi friends!

Since Easter is right around the corner, we decided to put together a festive project for those of you that have the Cricut Explore with the Anna Griffin Soiree content.

We’ve turned the chain cupcake wrapper into a precious paper Easter basket that’s a perfect tabletop display for your decorated eggs.

easter basket1

Please note: the Soiree artwork will not be available for purchase in Design Space until late May.

Here are the supplies you’ll need for this project:

·         Cricut Explore with Anna Griffin Soiree Content

·         Anna Griffin Cuttlebug Lace Trimmings Folders and Dies: http://bit.ly/1ohXRhS

·         Anna Griffin Perfect Palette 12×12 Cardstock: http://bit.ly/1hXfJJR

·         Anna Griffin Interchangeable Border Punch set: http://bit.ly/1kmZoBz

·         Anna Griffin All-Occasion 3D Sentiment Garlands

·         Anna Griffin Metallic Layers paper collection

·         Anna Griffin ink pads: http://bit.ly/1g1WkXn

·         Basket filler/artificial grass

Follow these steps to make the Easter basket:

1.  Login to Design Space and cut basket pieces using Cricut Explore (lace cut-out, backing and circular bottom). Click this link for the cutting file in Design Space. https://www.cricut.com/design/#/canvas/project/16111898

2.  Assemble sides of basket by adhering lacy cut-out to solid backing.  Insert tab into slot and apply adhesive to secure.

3.  For basket bottom, snip circle every 1/2” up to score line.  Fold on score line to create tabs.  Apply adhesive to tabs and push circle down into basket, securing tabs to sides of basket.

4.  Trim a 1 3/4” x 12” strip of blue Perfect Palette cardstock.  Punch both edges with lace punch.  Adhere ends of strip to inside of basket to form handle.

Now, let’s decorate the Easter eggs:

1.  Dye your eggs. Eggs can be dyed traditionally, or rubbed with Anna Griffin pigment inks as seen here.

2.  Die cut decorative flourishes from Metallic Layers cardstock. We chose to use metallic gold and pearlized cream cardstock for our eggs, but you can use any color you’d like!

3. Use liquid adhesive to adhere die cuts to eggs. We used Scrappy Glue from HSN.com for this step: http://bit.ly/1hchinh

Now place your finished eggs in the basket and accent with a “Happy Easter” banner or sentiment.

We hope you enjoy making this project!

    Hi Anna
My granddaughter  came over last week end and I was showing her window frame card set I told her she could make her birthday card and she did and signed her name on the back. Katrina birthday is April 23.

Absolutely love your blog and the gorgeous projects.  I love the new dies and embossing folders and have been collecting every one I can get my hands on.  However, I am having trouble find the inserts for you beautiful boxes to store the embossing folders.  Do you know where additional inserts can be purchased?  Thank you for sharing your gift with all of us.

Just exquisite! I don’t have the Cricut Explore but I do have the cupcake wrapper cartridge so I’m going to try this with your dies which I do have. Thanks for all the beautiful presentations you do. LJ

Hello Anna:Love this basket! Very cute. Just want to say, ” have a safe trip to UK. Enjoy and have fun. Return to your loving crafters because we will miss you.”  You are a woman of great integrity, Anna. God bless you.

Anna, this is grand! Beautiful projects for Easter. Thanks for showing us how its done and for wetting my appetite for more AG.
  8. Posted by: winnie
I just made this…it’s so cute…note: I had to adjust the size on the bottom…the current score line is at 3.5″ diameter..I had to rescore at 3.25″ so it would fit. I found a spellbinder circle die that is exactly 3.25″ diameter and was able to trace around it with a scoring tool. voila !  Thanks Anna !
  9. Posted by: Claudia Henderson
First of all Thank you for all these great tools and ideas, I love them. I do have a suggestion to make regarding the new Cricut Explore. I am still working on getting to know mine and I still fine things that only work with either my Expression or the Explore. So I guess I have to keep them both 🙂 The Explore cuts are awesome…Here my question/ Suggestion: I love your card but could they be set up in a way that I can choose between a 5×7 card and a 4 1/4x 51/2 card? I know I can down size everything, but it would be so much easier if it could be done automatically so all proportions stay the same…I hope this can be done…Oh and please can you bring back the metallic paper packs….Thanks so much and have a wonderful and happy Easter

I ordered some of your kits and they came this week.  Only one more to get and I can’t wait to get started on them…..

Thank you for sharing this beautiful project! I don’t have the Explore but I do have every one of your embossing folders and most of your dies. With this inspiration I think I can come up with something similar.
Please keep the projects coming! This is so much fun and inspiration!

    Hello Anna–
I just love the Easter Basket you made.  I have a special request — can you please restock the stamp binder sleeves that you used to sell separately on HSN.  They sold out before I could purchase any.  Truly appreciate it and have a WONDERFUL holiday.
  18. Posted by: Diana
I realized this morning why we need blogs like this.  I must be dumb but I never thought about running paper through a punch one way and turning it around and running it through the other way to form a cute completely punched strip….duh.   Thanks Anna.
  19. Posted by: Jessica T
This is lovely, beautiful, and elegant as are all things Anna Griffin !  I was hoping you would answer  all the above inquiries, especially Joann Benford’s question, as I think many of us have similar problems or concerns. Thank you!!

Hi Anna, I do not know if this is the right place to ask you this. I bough the die cuts for the cuttlebug, I put them on the plate correctly, however the B plate is getting the image of what I cut on it. What am doing wrong???? Please help. Thanks in advance. My email addresstunchiebaby@yahoo.com
  21. Posted by: JANIE
Love my Cricut Explore. Took some getting used to coming from the
Expression. It does take a little longer to do things but the CUT you get is sooooo much better,WOW.
Thank you for all your input great designs.

Hi Anna, I like this new project to try with my cricut explore. I wish that I would be able to buy digital images for the explore just like the mini personal cricut. I don’t like that this option is not available for the explore that means I still have to buy cartridges.  Unless there is something that I don’t now and there are more designs to use. I don’t think there are enough designs to choose from on the explore. I love the machine it great but, needs more digital options and more designs.  Thank for this idea gives me reason to use the explore.
  23. Posted by: Jessie Hawthorne
I just love this! Thank-You so much for the idea.I bought all of the things and the Circuit. This will be fun.
    Please send more ideas.
  24. Posted by: Sharon
I, too, would like to be able to download or copy/paste the directions for step by step. Thanks so much.
  25. Posted by: Lillian Meyer
What a beautiful project, it would make any type of Easter gathering even more special. Happy Easter and Happy Spring everyone.
  26. Posted by: Mona
Thank you for the idea for the Easter egg.  I do have the die so I can do that.  I did not buy the explorer for 2 reasons.  1. I bought the Brother SanNCut from HSN. 2. I made the mistake of buying the Imagine which is my $500 door stop so I would not buy another Cricut until I know that they will support it. Because I did not buy the Explorer I did not get your Soiree designs.  Although my ScanNCut does not need cartridges I do have the original Cricut that works good so I’m hopeful that you will have a cartridge with your designs which I would love to purchase. I do love all the things I bought on Craft Day!
Thanks again for your Easter projects.

    Hi Anna,
Since I don’t have a Cricut of any level, but do have a Cuttlebug, I am going to emboss some beautiful papers and use my newest dies to try to replicate the eggs.    I’ll just have to use my traditional basket for them, but this will really ‘step it up’ for Easter.    Thank you for the ideas — please keep them coming!

Anna, I would love to make some of these for my grand children. Is there some way or some where that I can make a copy of the directions. I would have to follow this step by step.

Lovely project.  I have the Cricut Expressions (big machine); can I purchase the AG cartridges offered with the Cricut Explore? or will these be available on HSN again/near future?  Thank you for such classy designs… have always loved the Anna Griffin designs and purchased the dies/folders from HSN/auto delivery!  Great opportunity for great products.
