Holiday Traditions Card Kit Giveaway #1

Hi everyone!

What a wonderful first week of sneak peeks we had. With over 1,500 comments on this week’s blog post it was our most popular preview ever. You guys are amazing!

Today’s giveaway is really special, because this lucky person will be the very first owner of the Anna Griffin Holiday Traditions Card Kit.  Drumroll please! The winner is…… Pamela E.! Congratulations!

Since we are getting into the Christmas spirit, let’s take a quick look at the beautiful holiday tree in the Christmas Arrangements embossing and die cutting collection (which is still available on hsn.com: http://bit.ly/christmasarrangements).  In 3 simple steps you can create a really special detailed embellishment that will look perfect on any project.

First, die cut your paper using the tree die. We used a green paper from our Perfect Palette collection that has a white core.

Next, place your die cut shape into the Victorian Tree embossing folder.

This result is beautiful enough as it is, but sometimes it’s fun to do a little distressing to take it to the next level. We like to use a sanding block and gently rub it over the embossed design to achieve this look. Don’t forget you’ll need to use paper with a white core for this to work!

How beautiful is that? While you’re at it, cut out multiple tree images and try layering them on a card. There are so many possibilities!

That’s all for today. We’ll see you back here on Tuesday for preview #2!

You Voted…Let’s Create!

Hi there!

For those of you who are not on Facebook, let me fill you in on something really fun we did this week.  We had so many popular holiday card projects on our September 2nd HSN Pinterest board and could not choose a favorite for today’s how-to. So, we thought we’d let you decide! We posted three choices on our Facebook page, and over 900 people voted! How amazing is that?

It was a close race, but here are all the details on how to create the winning Season’s Greetings paper weaving card with our Holiday Die Cut 12” Border Stickers. This card technique is great because you can duplicate it with any of these borders for the same stunning result!

  • “Season’s Greetings” sentiment sticker from our Yuletide Greetings Collection: http://bit.ly/1qrbF9c

Instructions:

This card is all about paper weaving, and the best way to show you the steps is through photos! Let’s get started.

Once you finish weaving, carefully flip everything over, adhere the card surface to the borders and cut out with scissors. Now you have the most beautiful background and lots of leftover border pieces for other projects!

Finally, embellish with holly stickers and a beautiful sentiment.

Have a wonderful weekend.
