Love and Easter Valentine’s Day Card Tutorial

Hi everyone,

Valentine’s Day is 3 weeks away and we thought you might enjoy a step by step Valentine card tutorial featuring our new Seasonal Love and Easter dies and embossing folders! It’s the season to celebrate love, and we can’t help but be enamored with the pretty pinks, reds, lace and Victorian inspired hearts. Let’s get to it!

You will need:

Start by adhering the pink and white cardstock layer to the folded ivory card base with the tape runner.

Next, cut and emboss two hearts using the 5″ x 7″ pink layer.

Using a sanding block, sand the top of the heart die cuts to show the embossing.

Emboss 2 gold metallic cardstock pieces with the Crochet Heart border embossing folder and 1 piece of ivory cardstock with the Crochet Heart embossing folder.

Using your craft knife, fussy cut the border edges.

Attach the silver glitter cardstock to the card base with foam adhesive squares, then layer the ivory metallic cardstock on top of the silver glitter cardstock with foam adhesive squares.

Stagger both gold metallic borders and attach 1.5″ from the bottom of the ivory cardstock.

Attach Foil Flourish Stickers with foam adhesive squares.

Finally, attach the sanded hearts with foam adhesive squares, and embellish your Valentine with the Love You sentiment and the gold bow. Write a special note on the inside because nothing shows you care like a carefully crafted,  handmade card!

I love valentine’s hearts and loving phrases. These cards just add to the beauty. Love, hearts and romance! xoxo

  2. Nancy Koupelis says:

    I have 2 suggestions/wishes:
The two audiences that I have the most difficulty designing cards for are teenagers and men. I’ve gotten the masculine problem solved with your materials but would like to see what materials/kits you could come up with for my teen audience (mainly, girls). They don’t seem to appreciate your gorgeous florals and antique prints as much as I do!

My second suggestion is that you design a kit that is Roman/Greek/Mediterranean inspired with all of the rich colors, mosaics and art from those cultures. I live in Greece for a while every year and always feel the creative impulse when I tour around and visit museums and sites, but I haven’t found materials to create what I see in my mind’s eye.

  3. Jan Weindel says:

    Dear Anna,

I have a daughter who is a teacher. Could you come up with a card kit that she could use to say ‘hooray”, “you did a good job”, or “thanks for your help” or “you were so nice,” or similar sentiments that would go together real quick so that she could encourage her students. Years ago I find one for her that had fold-out honeycomb embellishments with other stickers and embellishments and she and her kids loved it! She teaches in the lower grades. Thanks again for all you do Anna.

  4. Mrs. A says:

Great project ideas. I just received the Love/Easter stamps in time to use for Valentines, but the Fantastic Flips Digital Media Card was stolen from my UPS SHIPMENT! Long story short, I have no faith now in my local UPS hub. Hope I can find a way to avoid delivery through UPS.

Hi Anna I have been out of the country for a while and upon my return to the UK attempted to re stock my A G supplies – can’t find anything on TV web site I have been using for the last year. Not sure what has happened- does this mean an end to my favourite crafters products in the U.K.? I watch HSN on line with envy as the products are unabled to be shipped to the UK.
I have been collecting your products for many years – starting with soft cover books, wooden stamps and punches to name be a few of the items I proudly own and I still use regularly. If it is the case,I am sad that these beautiful items are no longer available in the U.K. Best wishes from Tricia in Brighton UK

Thanks Anna for the tutorial, I love to see how you do it, it’s so inspirational. Would like to know if you sell the paper that matches the paper in your kits and your tags sets.
