Now we have a few tips and tricks when it comes to using your Acetate Cards for Everyday!

Tip #1: Ribbon

Attaching the acetate card overlay to a card base using ribbon is a fun way to attach the the two without using adhesive.

Tip #2: Matching Die-Cuts & Acetate

Acetate Cards for All Occasions and Vintage Garden Die-Cuts are designed to go together to create a layered, three-dimensional effect on your cards. Choose your favorite die cut from the set, and layer on top of the coordinating design on the acetate layer.

Tip #3: Embossing

Emboss a card stock layer and place it underneath the acetate. The texture shows through beautifully.

Tip #4: Add Volume, Dimension and Texture

Gently curl the edges of the die-cuts using the barrel of a pencil for a tighter curve.  Use larger barreled pens or markers to get a more gentle curve on your die cuts.

Tip #5: Brads

Using brads or grommets is a creative way to fasten sentiments and embellishments to the acetate layer while also holding layers together.

Tip #6: 3D Acetate

To give your card a three-dimensional effect, fussy cut a design out of the acetate and layer it over the duplicate design on the acetate card layer. Add height with foam adhesive to give your card texture.

Tip #7: Shaker Card

Acetate cards are great for making shaker cards! Follow the easy steps below to make your own shaker card. See full step by step from a previous how to here.

  1. Cut off the front or back of the acetate card.
  2. Fussy cut a border from card stock.
  3. Adhere card stock layer on top of acetate layer using double-sided tape.
  4. Place foam strips on a card stock card base in a rectangle. The strips should be placed about a half-inch in from each side.
  5. Die cut confetti.
  6. Fill the rectangle with confetti.
  7. Attach your acetate layer to the foam strips. The card stock border should cover the foam strips.
  8. Add embellishments and a sentiment.

Now that is a fun filled Friday! Join us right here on Monday for the last Product Preview before our shows and later in the week for your shopping list!

Love,

Anna

I can never get enough of you precious angels, so thank you for giving us a new set this year! I use many of them year round in shabby chic whitewashed shadow boxes made out of old window frames. They also look great behind my Willow Tree angels in various displays that I have. No wonder I can’t seem to get enough for the cards I want to make! I try to give Christmas cards with angels every year to remind my friends that faith is the reason for the season. So thanks again, and I am keeping my fingers crossed that I can get a couple sets before they sell out!

Congratulation Jennefer Happy Crafting. I have been buying all of Anna Griffin items this year. Man/etsy shops are on vacation but I was hoping to re stock them encludign some cards made with the anna Griffin word dies and cardstock and layers but that will not be possible. Your angle policy although generous does not allow for any internet sales only craft fairs, and fea markets etc. I am totally disabled and can not do the local venues. My Etsy shops support my charities. All proceeds goes to charities. So I going to have to curtain my spending. Although I see a lot of Anna Griffin’s cards on Etsy; I always abide by the angel policies. Yes, I am drooling over all the beautiful items and cards, I going to have to limit to what I can use for me personally and some for my military cards.. I usually cut most of my layers or buy the card mat layers for my military cards when I find a good buy/. At least I do used my Anna Griffin’s embossing folders for my military cards and my Anna Griffin’s Cartridges for the military cards. Please be sure to always check the Angel Policy for all you make and sell.

  24. Sandy Hanson says:

I really look forward to your blog posts. I am addicted to your crafting style, Anna. Lol. I am really interested in the Go Press and Foil machine. I ordered the Xyron AG patterned sticker makers when they were on air last time. I have other Xyron products; but you made this decorative and such a useful width. My craft room needs to be pretty and decorative (not just functional). Lol!! Love your style, Anna.

  29. Loralei says:

I’m thinking you could also use flocked card stock under the acetate for a different look or sand the embossed layer. All ways it’s beautiful!

  40. Diane aka ciocidi says:

I finished 15 cards using the acetate covers and coordinating die cuts over the feminine notes cards. I love that look! My one issue is with the die cut that contains the basket of flowers. It is much too large to use with its coordinating acetate front. I do not want to cut another front apart to give only one card dimension. Could someone please check that for me? I also used elements from other card kits and they coordinated perfectly! Thanks for the ideas!

  41. Jane Gotelli says:

Thank you so much for the hints on how to use the acetate. I was trying to put a card base into the acetate and it just didn’t work. Now I have many different ideas. I had put it away. Now I will take it out and try again. I just never see these opportunities for myself. I need your hints.

  42. Irene says:

    Anna

In the near future , will you have a card kit that is designed around young children ? Say , up to age 16 . I have 6 granddaughters all under 15 and would love for you to put together a kit . I’m sure I’m not the only grandmother that is thrilled with all your products!! Please please consider.

  44. Robert H says:

Others have said this in different ways but I need to repeat that your safety is paramount. We all hope for the best but even the slightest risk is dangerous and necessary. All of us here, the Griffinite tribe, would buy your products regardless of how they may be presented or of any shipping delays. That’s the least we can do to support you. Best wishes and mighty prayers, our friend.

  45. Linda Valoy says:
