How to: Colorful Christmas Double Gatefold Card

Hi there,

Today we wanted to dive into a fun way to add color to your embossed images! This project combines the gorgeous Christmas Tree design with 3 vibrant colors from our set of Chameleon Markers. Get out your Christmas Double Gatefold Folders from the October show, and let’s get to crafting! If you don’t have these exquisite holiday embossing folders, you can still get them here. You’ll get 4 beautiful designs, and friends and family will love to receive these interactive cards!

Christmas Double Gatefold

Finished Size: 4”x 5 ½” card

Materials:

  • Anna Griffin® Gold/Ivory Cricut® Cuttlebug™ Version 3 510-398
  • Cricut® Cuttlebug™ 6”x 13” A Spacer Plate, 115-2174
  • Cricut® Cuttlebug™ 2, 6” x 13” B Adapter Plates, 114, 0198
  • Anna Griffin® Holiday Gatefold Embossing Folders, Holiday Tree, 574-338
  • Anna Griffin® Baubles and Bells Embossing Folders, Christmas Baubles Border
  • Anna Griffin® Holiday Vintage Collage Card Toppers, “Sending Christmas Cheer”
  • Anna Griffin® Chameleon Perfect Palette Markers, Red Coral, Evergreen, Warm Sunset, 532-431
  • Sentiment embellishment
  • 1, 5 ½” 12” piece and 2, 1” x 7” ivory metallic card stock strips
  • Adhesive (tape runner)
  • Scissors

Instructions:

Emboss the 5 ½” x 12” card stock with the Holiday Tree embossing folder.

Emboss the two strips of 1” x 7” card stock with the Christmas Baubles embossing border folder.

Using the markers, color the embossed tree as shown.

Assembly:

Adhere the Christmas collage topper to the inside of the card.

Close the card and fold the 1” x7” embossed card stock strip around it.

Cut the second strip of embossed card stock to approximately 3” long.

Adhere the strips together to form a band that wraps around the card, securing it closed.

Attach the holiday sentiment to the front of the band with adhesive.

How to: Overlay a Perfect Patterned Card

Hi everyone!

We hope that you had a fun and crafty weekend! We love coming up with new ways for you to use our products, and today we have a card that utilizes our Perfect Pattern Cards for Christmas! Today we are showing you a new way to layer your cards. Dig in to your craft stash and let’s create this card together!

Christmas Perfect Pattern Card

Finished Size: 5×7 card

Materials:

  • Anna Griffin® Gold/Ivory Cricut® Cuttlebug™ Version 3, 510-398
  • Anna Griffin® Perfect Patterns Xmas Cards and Envelopes (green striped card base), 574-354
  • Anna Griffin® Christmas Collage Toppers 2(“Have a Holly Jolly Christmas”), 574-353
  • Anna Griffin® Baubles and Bells embossing folders ( “Scattered Holly”)
  • Anna Griffin® Glorious Greetings embellishments (sleigh and holly)
  • Anna Griffin® Craft Essential Tool Set (craft knife, cutting mat), 442-864
  • Adhesive (tape runner)
  • Foam squares
  • 5×7 ivory metallic card stock

Instructions:

  1. Using a craft knife and cutting mat, cut away the center of the design by following along the inside of the red ribbon design.

2. Emboss the metallic ivory card stock layer with the Scattered Holly embossing folder.

Assembly:

  1. Using a tape runner, adhere the embossed metallic layer behind the cut out window.

2. Using foam squares, adhere the collage card topper to the center of the card.

3. Attach the sleigh and holly to the collage card topper with foam squares.

It is amazing that by cutting out the middle of this Perfect Pattern Card, and adding an embossed layer underneath that you can create something new and different!

How to: Haunting Halloween Card

Welcome to a very scary edition of our blog posts! It’s Friday the 13th, and we are getting into the Halloween spirit with a frighteningly fun card! If you haven’t already, you have 18 days to get ready for All Hallows Eve! Today we are showing you how to use your Spooky Glitter Papers and our Halloween Paper Crafting Collections to create a card that is “booootiful” in the making!

Spooky Glitter Halloween Paper

Finished Size: 5×7 card

Materials:

  • Anna Griffin® Gold/Ivory Cricut® Cuttlebug™ Version 3, 510-398
  • Anna Griffin® Spooky Glitter Halloween Cardstock, 442-900
  • Anna Griffin® Fretwork Cutting Dies
  • Anna Griffin® Paper Tricks Embossing Folders (“Pleated Rosette and Border Small”), 395-853
  • Anna Griffin® Tool ‘n One, 457-852
  • Cricut Cuttlebug® 12”x5” Magnetic Cutting Mat
  • Cricut Cuttlebug® 12”x5” Embossing Mat
  • Cricut Cuttlebug® 12”x5” Spacer Plate A
  • 2, Cricut Cuttlebug® 12”x5” Spacer Plate B
  • 1, 5”x7” and 1, 1 ½”x 12” orange patterned cardstock pieces
  • 1, 2 ¾” x 7” black patterned cardstock piece
  • 1, 3”x 6” orange glitter cardstock piece
  • 1, 3” x 6” black cardstock piece
  • 1, 5”x 7” ivory folded card base
  • Black glitter bow
  • Hot glue adhesive
  • Foam squares
  • Scissors

Instructions:

  1. Using the Fretworks die and your Cricut® Cuttlebug™ die cut and emboss the orange glitter paper.

2. Repeat step 1 with the black card stock.

3. Fussy cut the embossed die cut through the center of the circles on each side as shown, cutting approximately 1 ½” off each side.

4. Using the rosette folder and your Cricut® Cuttlebug™ emboss the 1 ½” x 12” orange patterned card stock strip.

5. Accordion fold the orange patterned card stock strip and attach the ends with hot glue.

6. Hot glue a small square of extra card stock to the back of the rosette to secure it in place.

Assembly:

  1. Using a tape runner, adhere the 5”x 7” orange patterned card stock to the ivory card base.

2. Adhere the black patterned card stock vertically down the center of the card with foam squares.

3. Attach the black die cuts to the back edges of the orange patterned rosette as shown. Then, attach to the center of the card.

4. Hot glue the orange glitter die cut vertically over the center of the paper rosette.

5. Adhere the sentiment with foam adhesive.

6. Attach the black glitter bow with hot glue.

Here’s another fun option! Use your Spooky Glitter Paper and Halloween Dies to create a scary spider web background!

How to: Christmas Shaker Card Making Kit + Layers

Hi everyone,

Happy Monday! Today we have another beautiful in the making project for you featuring our Christmas Shaker Card Making Kit! It is a rainy day here in Atlanta, and it’s absolutely perfect for crafting!

Thank you to all who have posted about getting your HSN orders so quickly. Why don’t we make a card right out of the box? Get out your new Christmas Shaker Card Making Kit, and let’s take it to the next level!

Christmas Shaker Card Kit

Finished Size: 5×7 card

Materials:

  • Anna Griffin® Christmas Shaker Card Making Kit, 572-265
  • Anna Griffin® Craft Essential Tool Set (scissors, craft knife, ruler), 442-864
  • Red glitter paper, cut to 4”x 6”
  • Gold cord trim, tied into 1” bows (4)
  • Adhesive (tape runner, glue)
  • Foam squares

Materials From Christmas Shaker Card Kit:

  • Card base- “Wishing you a festive and fun holiday season”
  • Card front- pine branches ornament, gold and white ornament
  • Shaker frame- large green ornament
  • Sentiment-“Peace & Joy”
  • Embellishments- red ornaments (2), green ornament, white ornament
  • Shaker insert
  • Red paper bow

Instructions:

  1. Remove the center from the two card fronts and the shaker frame, along the scored lines.

2. Fussy cut the gold and white ornament card front along the dotted lines.

3. From the 4×6 red glitter rectangle, cut away the center to get a 1/4″ frame.

4. To assemble the red paper bow, fold each of the smaller tabs in to the back center and adhere with glue. Then wrap the longer tab around and adhere with glue.

Assembly:

  1. Adhere the shaker insert to the front of the card base using a tape runner.

2. Remove the sticker backing of the pine branches ornament card front and attach it to the card, with the shaker insert between the card base and card front.

3. Remove the sticker backing of the gold and white ornament layer and adhere it to the red glitter paper.

4. Attach the red glitter paper to the card using foam squares.

5. Adhere the shaker frame to the card using foam squares.

6. Attach the four ornament embellishments using foam squares.

7. Attach the sentiment to the bottom right corner using foam squares.

8. Adhere the red paper bow to the top of the shaker frame using glue or foam squares.

9. Adhere the 1” gold cord trim bows to the top of each ornament embellishment using glue.

How to: Christmas Collage Toppers 2 with Shadow Layer

Wow, wow, wow! Thank you all so much for joining us on Tuesday, October 3rd for our 24 hour Craft Day on HSN! It was a wild roller coaster of a ride, and we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did! There’s so much creativity just waiting to happen with products like the Cricut Maker, the Cricut Easy Press, Anna’s Holiday Ornaments Digital Cartridge and the Christmas Shaker Card Kit. You haven’t seen a “beautiful in the making” how-to project since the end of August because of all the new product previews. Today we chose our amazing Christmas Collage Toppers 2 to inspire you to get crafting! Crafty girls have been connecting the dots across all of your Anna Griffin stash. Just look how we have used the Beribboned Frame die to accent the artwork on the card topper!

Christmas Collage Toppers II

Finished Size: 5×7 card

Materials:

  • Anna Griffin® Gold/Ivory Cricut Cuttlebug™ Version 3, 510-398
  • Anna Griffin® Cuttlebug™ Beribboned Frames Dies, 489-501
  • Anna Griffin® Tool ‘n One, 457-852
  • Anna Griffin® Christmas Collage Toppers Set 2 (“Peace Love and Joy” topper) 574-353
  • Anna Griffin® Perfect Patterns Christmas Cards and Envelopes (1, 5” x 7” green and red card), 574-354
  • Anna Griffin® Holiday 5″ x 7″ Metallic Layers Cardstock (1 green layer), 442-884
  • Ivory cardstock, cut to 5” x 7”
  • Holly embellishments (2)
  • Adhesive (tape runner or glue)
  • Foam squares
  • Pencil
  • Scissors

Instructions:

Die cut the metallic green card stock layer with the Beribboned Frame Die.

Using scissors, cut off the small leaves around the edges of the frame die cut.

Trace the outline of the frame die cut onto the ivory card stock with a pencil.

Fussy cut the ivory card stock along the traced outline. Cut slightly inside the lines.

Assembly:

Using a tape runner or glue, adhere the frame die cut to the ivory card stock layer.

Attach the frame die cut with ivory card stock backing to the Perfect Patterns Christmas Card using foam squares.

Adhere the Christmas Collage Topper to the center of the card using foam squares.

Attach one Holly embellishment to the bottom right corner of the Christmas Collage Topper, and then adhere a second Holly embellishment to the top left corner of the Christmas Collage Topper, between the frame die cut and Collage Topper.

Ta da! That is beautiful in the making!
