Hi friends,

Happy Friday!  For those of you who have been asking, our next shows on HSN will be May 2nd! Anna Griffin Elegant Papercrafting will be live at 2am, 11am, 5pm and 9pm. Next week we will start to preview the items for those shows here on the blog.

News flash! Registration for the 4th Annual Anna Griffin | Create opens on April 2nd. If you are interested in attending, we will have all of the details right here on Monday morning so make sure to check back.

Today we have 2 videos for you; one is a beautiful easel card tutorial and the other is our Fan Mail Friday feature. Both are jam packed with tips, tricks and news!

Now, easel cards may look intimidating, but never fear, Anna Griffin is here! This tutorial makes it easy to create an impressive card using any of your cutting dies. Let’s make it together!

Fancy French Frame Easel Card

Finished Size: 5×7 card

Materials:

  • Anna Griffin® Gold/Ivory Cricut® Cuttlebug™ Version 3, 510-398
  • Anna Griffin® Tool ‘n One, 457-852
  • Anna Griffin® Fancy French Frame Dies, 603-507
  • (1) Piece of floral double sided patterned card stock, cut to 5”x 12”
  • (1) Piece of floral double sided patterned card stock, cut to 5”x 7”
  • (1) Piece of blue patterned card stock, cut to 3 ¼”x 5”
  • (1) Piece of gold foil card stock, cut to 3”x 3 ½”
  • (3) Floral embellishments
  • Sentiment Sticker
  • Foam squares
  • Adhesive (tape runner)

 Instructions:

Score the  5”x 12” piece of floral patterned card stock at 6″ and fold in half. Note that our paper has a pattern on both sides. We have folded the paper so that our main pattern is on the inside of the fold.

Using the Cricut Cuttlebug® and our large Fancy French frame die, cut the folded piece of card stock. Align the non folded edge along the bottom of the die. The folded edge will be lower than the top of the die because the card is 6 inches high against a 7 inch die.

On the folded die cut card, measure and mark the center of the card front and score horizontally with the scoring nib of your tool ‘n one. Peak fold the card front to create the base structure for your easel card.

Cut and emboss the Fancy French frame from the floral patterned card stock.

Using the Cricut Cuttlebug® and the center die from the Fancy French Frames set, cut the inner frame from the blue patterned card stock.

Cut and emboss the gold foil card stock using the flourish die from the Fancy French Frames set.

Assembly: Apply double sided adhesive to the front of the peak folded card base.

Attach the die cut and embossed frame aligning the design at the base.

Using foam squares, attach the blue patterned inner frame.

Adhere the gold foil flourish with foam squares.

Attach two floral embellishments and the sentiment sticker to the frame of the card.

Using foam adhesive, attach the third floral embellishment to the base of the card. The floral embellishment will hold the card upright when on display. Lift to release and lay flat for mailing.

You can make an easel card with any of our large frame cut and emboss dies just by die cutting a folded card and scoring across the center. Have fun! These beautiful dies will be back in stock on hsn.com at the end of April.

It’s my favorite time of the week….it is time for Fan Mail Friday! Just look at all of this crafting goodness!

Make sure to meet us back here on Monday for 2 posts that you are not going to want to miss!

Love,

Anna
