How To: Valentine’s Day Window Ledge Card

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and it is an excellent reason to send a handmade card to someone you love! One of our most beloved crafting items is our Window Ledge Dies, and what’s great about them is that you can make a window ledge scene for any occasion!

Valentine Window Ledge Collage

Finished Size: 5×7 card

Materials:

  • Anna Griffin® Gold/Ivory Cricut® Cuttlebug™ Version 3, 510-398
  • Anna Griffin® Window Ledge Cardmaking Kit and Dies, 546-219
  • Anna Griffin® Spring Seasonal Embossing Folders (Ornate Quatrefoil)
  • Anna Griffin® Foil Layers Card stock (pink and gold 5”x 7” layer) 405-523
  • (1) Piece of gold foil card stock, cut to 4”x 6”
  • (1) Piece of light pink metallic card stock, cut to 3”x 5”
  • (1) 5” 7” ivory card stock base
  • Valentine sentiment
  • Foam squares
  • Adhesive (tape runner)
  • Paper trimmer

Materials from Window Ledge Kit:

  • Window frame die
  • White and gold window ledge
  • White and gold window ledge flourish
  • Dog silhouette
  • Pink awning
  • (2) Pink valances
  • (2) Pink floral curtains
  • (2) Pink striped curtains
  • (2) Roses
  • (3) Small pink flowers

 Instructions:

Using the Cricut® Cuttlebug™ and Ornate Quatrefoil embossing folder, emboss the light pink metallic card stock.

Using the Cricut® Cuttlebug™ and window frame cutting die, die cut and emboss the gold foil card stock.

Assembly:

Using a tape runner, adhere the pink and gold foil card layer to the ivory card stock base.

Using a tape runner, adhere the window parts in the following order:

  • embossed light pink card stock (attach to the center of the card base)
  • pink striped curtains (align towards the bottom of the light pink layer)

  • pink floral curtains (align towards the bottom of the light pink layer)
  • pink valance (align to cover the top of the curtain die cuts)

Attach the cut and embossed gold window frame piece using foam adhesive.

Using foam adhesive, attach the white and gold window ledge.

Attach the dog silhouette poking out the window.

Arrange the rose and flower die cuts weaving through the window and window ledge and adhere with a tape runner.

Attach the gold and white window ledge flourish using a tape runner.

Fold the awning along the score lines and adhere using a tape runner.

Adhere the second valance to the back of the bottom of the awning using a tape runner.

Attach a sentiment to the awning using foam squares.

How to: Valentine’s Day Shaker Card

Hi there,

It’s been a snowy couple of days here in Atlanta, which make for the perfect craft days! Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, so make sure that you get out all your favorite heart, flower and loved themed crafting items to make something extra special for all of those near and dear to your heart! We love the tradition of sending sweet sentiments, and thought we would share one of our favorite cards using the Shaker Window Dies (Hearts) and our Shaker Supply Card Kit.

Let’s get to shakin’!

Finished Size: 5×7 card   

Materials:

  • Anna Griffin® Gold/Ivory Cricut® Cuttlebug™ Version 3, 510-398
  • Anna Griffin® Shaker Window Dies (Hearts) 572-269
  • Anna Griffin® Valentine Confetti Cutting Die (Hearts) 583-923
  • Anna Griffin® Lovely Arrangements Embossing Folders (Embroidered Hearts)
  • Anna Griffin® Fancy Double Sided Card stock Layers (black floral)
  • Anna Griffin® Double Sided Cardstock for Diecutting (pink and white script)
  • Anna Griffin® Shaker Card Supplies Kit, 592-715
  • (1) 5”x 7” light pink metallic card stock layers
  • (1) 5”x 7” dark pink metallic card stock layer
  • (1) 5” 7” ivory card stock base
  • Sentiment sticker
  • Rose embellishments
  • Foam squares
  • Adhesive (tape runner)
  • Paper trimmer

Instructions:

Using the paper trimmer, cut the black floral card stock layer to 5”x 7”. Set aside the scrap piece.

Cut the pink and white script layer to 5” wide, making sure the script reads horizontally across the page.

Using the Cricut® Cuttlebug and Shaker Window Die, die cut the large heart outline from the light pink card stock and the small heart outline from the dark pink card stock. Set aside the scrap pieces.

Die cut the large heart outline from the center of the black floral card stock layer using the Cricut® Cuttlebug and Shaker Window Die.

Using the Cricut® Cuttlebugand the Shaker Window Dies, cut the smallest heart from a scrap piece from the light pink card stock.

Emboss the small, light pink heart using the Cricut® Cuttlebug and Embroidered Hearts embossing folder.

Use the remaining scrap pieces of black floral, dark pink and light pink card stock to cut confetti hearts using the Valentine Confetti Die and the Cricut® Cuttlebug.

Pour the confetti into the foam-lined acetate layer from the Shaker Card Supply Kit.

Remove the liners from the foam strips to adhere the second piece of acetate, making a confetti pouch.

Assembly:

Using a tape runner, adhere the 5” wide pink and white script layer to the ivory card base.

Attach the confetti pouch to the center of the card using a tape runner along the edges of the pouch.

Adhere the black floral card stock to the front side of the confetti pouch using a tape runner.

Attach the light pink and dark pink heart outlines to the window of the card.

Using foam squares, attach the light pink embossed heart.

Attach the rose embellishments and sentiment.
